Kentucky Wildcats

Following a disappointing 8-6 season in 2008 despite four consecutive wins at the start of it, Kentucky Wildcats did manage an impressive 25-19 win over East Carolina to claim the 2009 Liberty Bowl – coach Rich Brooks’ third consecutive bowl after 2006 and 2007 Music Bowl triumphs. The upcoming season will see Kentucky field the second most experienced offense behind the Bulldogs with Zip Duncan and Justin Jeffries making 48 starts between them. Center Jorge Gonzalez will receive a boost after being named to the Rimington Trophy watch list while cornerback Trevor Lindley and linebacker Micah Johnson are expected to deliver after being included in the SEC Top 30 list. Defensive end Jeremy Jarmon’s career at Kentucky is over, however, after accidentally taking a supplement containing a banned substance. The senior Wildcat is ineligible for the 2009 season, unfortunately bring his collegiate career to a premature end.
